The right exchange organisation

If you want to go to the US for a year or a half you need to organize a lot of things. At first you need to find the right organization. In my opinion there´s not the "perfect" organization. EF, Give, and AFS are only a few examples for exchange organizations. At the end my parents and I decided to go with AIFS (American Institute for foreign Study). Cause of this my blog will be orientated on the AIFS program. But the most things will be similar to other organizations.😃

Such an exchange year isn´t really cheap, that´s why I applied for a scholarship called PPP from the German government. Unfortunaly I didnt´get it, but I can do my year though. There are a lot of different scholarships and never give up to get one if you need one.

One of the most important points by finding the right organization for me, were the orientation days in New York City, which AIFS offers. I think it will be great to have four days in NYC before I´ll fly to my host family. So I´ll have time to realize, that I´ll live in Texas for one year.

Don´t care about the costs by choosing the organization. Everywhere they are between 9000-11000€. It´s important that you and your parents have a good feeling with the organization, because they will be responsible for you during the whole year.

Please remember that you need to have the good feeling with the organization. I still have this feeling (I´ll fly in 52 days) and I´m really happy with my organization.
